Richard had an overgrown garden full of brambles that he wanted to transform into a clean and tidy area with fresh grass. He cleared all brambles himself but did not know how to do turf laying, so he looked for a professional gardening company in Woolwich to do it for him.
He found our website and requested an on-site survey with a landscape gardener of ours to quote him for a real turf laying service.
On the day, our chief gardener, Tylio visited Richard's home and discussed all service details with him. We took the measurements and quoted for turf laying of 45 sq.m area as turfing is the fastest way to enjoy green and healthy grass.
Richard accepted our grass laying quotation, and we scheduled the service for him.
The Woolwich turfing service was completed in four stages:
Stage 1. Area Preparation and Garden Levelling
Firstly our landscaping team rotavated the whole garden to aerate the soil properly. The soil was very uneven, and it had to be perfectly levelled before laying the new grass.
To achieve this, our landscaping team had to remove a significant amount of soil from the garden.
Stage 2. Applying a Layer of Rootzone Mix to The Garden
When the right volume of soil was cleared, our garden designers in Woolwich added a layer of rootzone mix on top. Rootzone is a premium mix of 50% sand, 40% soil and 10% minerals that support new lawn growth and help it establish its root system faster.
Stage 3. Laying The Turf Rolls
When the garden got levelled and enriched, the final step of turfing service is laying the turf rolls. Gardeners put down premium turf rolls, and after they got installed correctly and attached, our team used a lawn roller to firm the surface of the garden. Of course, upon completion of the service, our staff watered the area properly.
Stage 4. Collection and Disposal of Generated Waste
There was no other waste generated from the service apart from the large volume of soil removed from the garden to level the area. Richard did not request waste disposal initially, but when he saw how many bags of soil the gardeners took out from the garden, he asked us to arrange a skip for him and load up the soil.

Our Woolwich gardeners completed the lawn laying service for Richard in four days, and he was really happy with his new grass. We also gave him a watering schedule and maintenance program to follow as he wanted to do further grass maintenance himself.
Our team visited the premises a couple of times to follow up and monitor the growth of the new grass. It is growing healthy and looking fabulous.
