What makes clearance in SE2 different
Abbey Wood is flat. You are on the Thames flood plain here, and that changes the job in ways people do not expect.
Flat does not mean easy. The ground is heavy clay and alluvial silt that holds water rather than shedding it, so an SE2 garden waterlogs quickly in winter and bakes hard in summer. Clearing brambles and overgrowth out of saturated ground is slower work than the same job on the sandier higher ground toward Bostall and Lesnes, and root removal takes longer because the soil comes up in heavy clods rather than breaking apart.
