Check your borough council's interactive map. Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich all have online TPO maps. If your property is in a conservation area, all trees above a certain size are automatically protected regardless of whether they have an individual TPO. When in doubt, check before booking any work.

It is genuinely cheaper in the long run to call the right professional the first time.
